How to Remove ctfmon.exe From Startup


It's good to remove useless programs and services from startup list to improve system speed and free up memory. Have you ever got stuck about a program called ctfmon.exe? Disabling it from msconfig doesnt make it disable but it's come back after windows restart.

No, it's not a virus or malware that like you got misunderstand. It's generally installed with microsoft office applications. It's an advanced text service that activates Alternative User Input Text Input Processor (TIP) and the Microsoft Office Language Bar. It generally takes 3000KB memory so machines with less resources may disable this program from execution on startup. 


Steps to disable ctfmon.exe

1. Open contol panel

2. Click Regional and Language options.
3. Click on Languages tab then click Details.


4. Then a window should open which says Text Services and Input Languages, Click on advanced tab.


5. Turn off advanced text services by checking the box, click OK. Now the language bar should disappear from the taskbar and ctfmon.exe unloads from memory.
